When you were looking through my website, could you tell I am a National Champion in Olympic Sprint Kayak? Probably not. But, this part of my background speaks to two things that drive me: teamwork, discipline, and the thrill of going all in.

This mindset shapres how I show up as a Brand Manager. I care deeply about the way things make people feel. Whether it's the people we love, the music that moves us, or the one romance movie you just know is going to wreck you (and yet, you still press play). I believe brand management should tap into that same emotional current.

My name is Christian Carrillo and I love to feel. I love the way people interact with one another, with brands, and with the world around them. With a rich background in brand management, creative leadership, and brand stewardship, I use insight and empathy to build campaigns and identities that connect... all with clarity, depth, and purpose.
LET'S GET PERSONAL
I've always been drawn to the bittersweet. The way two opposite emotions can exist at the same time. Like watching a rom-com after a breakfup (because yes, you're heartbroken, but also yelling "Seriously? A happy ending!?"
i believe that brands should meet people at that level, not just with relevance but with true resonance. Corporations forget that we are people with goals, feelings, and emotions. Even from a B2B perspective, corporations create some feeling. That's what makes something memorable and builds a connection that lasts. That's why people cry at Extra Gum commercials (unless you're still in the thick of heartbreak, then you're just crying). That's the magic of branding: it can make you feel.

That's what I am to build: brands that feel personal, connected, and meaningul. Because anything can make a pretty ad or sell a product. But creating and nurturing a brand that makes someone feel something? That's uncommon creativity.

As a brand manager, I immerse myself in new industries, challenges, and stakeholder ecosystems. I thrive on understanding what people value, what they're afraid of, and what moves them to act.

BRINGING CREATIVITY
TO THE TABLE
I view marketing as part art and part science.
Art. That's the heart. I believe creativity should challenge the norm. Whether through visuals, voice, or campaign concepts, the work should feel like something fresh, personal, and emotionally relevant.
Science. That's the strategy. Using data, insight, and analysis I craft brand strategies rooted in real people's lives (their motivations, fears, and aspirations). From persona development to campaign architecture, I build systems that serve the audience first. Because, when brands understand their people, they don't just communicate... they connect.
